Nameserver Address Store

The Nameserver Address Store (NSAS) is the part of the resolver that holds the addresses associated with the nameservers for a zone. When the resolver needs to send a query to a zone, it uses this component to return an address to which the query should be directed. Although conceptually simple, the NSAS conceals the complexity of selecting the fastest server for the query.

Resolver Framework

The first pass of the resolver was written in late 2010. As development work proceeded, some shortcomings have come to light. Notes on proposed refactoring of parts of the code for incorporation into a production resolver are included here.
