    v3 v4
    1 = BIND 10 External Testing =
    2
3 This page explains how to help BIND 10 by testing, if you are not part
4 of the BIND 10 team.
    5
6 If you would like to test BIND 10, we appreciate any and all help you
7 can give. We are interested in any results you can share with us,
    8 either publically or privately.
    9
10 * If you already have an existing DNS testing framework that you use
11   for your operations, then it may be as simple as installing BIND
12   10 onto your test platform and running your usual tests.
    13
14 * If you have a testing platform, but do not have it set up for DNS
15   testing, then you can run one of a set of standard tests. Ideally
16   you would run using data from your production networks (for example
17   using your actual zones and packet captures), but this can also use
    18   synthetic data.
    19
20 * If you want to set up an ad-hoc test, then this is also useful. As
21   with special testing platforms, this is more useful if it reflects
    22   your production systems.
    23
24 We really want input, but we cannot guarantee that we will take any
25 specific action based on the results of your testing. Your results
26 will be balanced against the overall goals of the project - but we are
27 quite happy to discuss any and all changes that you need based on your
    28 experiences.
    29
30 You are welcome to test on your own, but if you would like to work
    31 with the BIND 10 team, please e-mail bind10-external-test@isc.org and we'll
32 get back to you as soon as possible.
1Please see the [wiki:external_test] page for information on contributing as an external tester.
